Clock Tower

A D.I.Y. superstore stands on the near side of the river today,
in this industrial view of Galashiels.
The clocktower belonged to Sanderson & Murray Skinworks. Date unknown.

Train Crash

Goods train crash in Galashiels yard. 1908.

Ladhope

The retaining walls just below Ladhope tunnel collapsed in 1916,
70 yards of the wall gave way, bringing down thousands of tons of rock and soil,
blocking the railway for the next few days.
