Old Hawick Page Seven

Silverbuthall

The prefabs at Silverbuthall as viewed from Burnfoot. (1954)

Slitrig Crescent

Slitrig Crescent, Hawick, the trees are no longer there. (1952)

Millpath

Looking down Millpath, Hawick, this view is just about the same today apart from the houses on the right hand side being demolished. (1944)

Albert Bridge

The Albert Bridge in Hawick taken from the Lawson Bridge at the Common Haugh,
I took a photo exactly like this from the same spot in 1980 and it looks just about the same in this photo taken 36 years earlier. (1944)

King George VI

King George VI made a " top secret " visit to the Borders in 1940 to inspect the troops,
but as this photo shows taken from Hawick's North Bridge, there was nothing very secret about it. (1940)

Slitrig Bridge

Slitrig Crescent again, this time looking on to Slitrig Bridge,
( I don't think it is actually called Slitrig Bridge, let me know. ) and The Village. (1944)
