The
above left hand side shows the picture covered in scratches,
creases and even tears, the right hand side shows the picture
after restoration and reprinting, big difference !!

This
photo of Chuckie Lodge on the Hariburn estate, near Lauder,
is over a hundred years old and is very faded, and although
you can't see it very well it has a long crease running from
top to bottom right in the middle.
The
photograph on the left shows a very bad crease across the near
bottom of the picture, also some minor creasing, marks and dullness.
With a little work the large crease is almost invisible, and
all the other blemishes are gone, it is also brightened up to
look as if it was taken in 1994 not 1934.
Also It's original size was only 3" x 2"and I enlarged
it to a snapshot sized 6" x 4".
This
is my fathers first school photo taken in 1933, as you can see
it was in very bad condition with corners missing and a big
tear at the top middle, now it is good enough to go into the
