Here are the first selection of photos of the new Hawick traffic relief scheme..

We plan to add more every weekend showing the progress and changes taking place.

Road closes on Commercial Road as work begins on the new Hawick traffic relief scheme.

The widening of Commercial Road into River Teviot.

Damming river in front of old Dickson and Laing Mill,(Wilton Mills), Commercial Road.

River Teviot where new bridge will be built adjoining Mansfield Road and Mart Street.

Digging starts on Leisure Centre grounds where new roundabout will be located.

Digging starts for bridge foundations on the Mart Street side of the River Teviot.
